Webdesign isn’t just art.
It involves a whole collection of different strategery — from copywriting and typography to layout and art — all fused together to create an interface that not only features a beautiful design but that entices the user to do something— like buy, subscribe or sign up.
In order to combine all these elements of Web design together and achieve successful results you must have a clear direction, that will guide each and every aspect of your design towards common goals. You must think strategically. It doesn’t matter if your site looks good if it isn’t converting visitors into paying customers. Am I right?
Before you get started on any redesign. You have to look at the current numbers as a starting point, here are just a few:
- Number of visits/visitors/unique visitors (monthly average)
- Bounce rate
- Time on site
- Top performing keywords
- # of inbound referring links
- # new leads or form submissions a month
I also look at pretty stuff like your logo, colors, and brand imagery and a whole slew of other things related to your business when we do a redesign.
Do you know your numbers? Do you understand what they mean and how they impact your bottom line?
