This initial session of SEO Power Hours was all about getting started.  We reviewed the best way to communicate, the schedule, SEO News and SEO 101.

SEO News

There were a few juicy pieces of SEO News that we chatted about.

1. The recent Google Algo Update. Here are some great reads on the update if you want to learn more.
   Search Engine Land
   Yoast
2. AI Overviews.  After a less-than-awesome-launch Google is scaling back on the AI Overviews, now they will show for 11% of the Search Queries vs 27%.  They will cause overall Google/Organic traffic to drop overtime because users will stay on the Search Results Page.
   AI Overview Fails – these are hilarious. If you come across an Ai Overview in your searching, take a screen cap and post it in our Slack.
3. REDDIT Deal: Here is one of many articles on the topic.

Here is a great, long, helpful video produced by Google on how they define Search.

There are thousands of factors that Google uses to decide is a site is good or not. These include speed, engagement, quality content and etc. We will get into the weeds of these as the Power Hour Sessions continue.
